May 12, 1984 Louisiana World Exposition (World's Fair) opening day

The 1984 Louisiana World Expedition brought many suburbanites back into the city for fun and frolic and re-awakened interest in the Wharehouse District. The New Orleans Convention Center now sits on grounds that hosted the fair.
