1968 - Christopher 'Black Happy' Goldston, traditional jazz drummer from New Orleans, Louisiana died on this day. Played before 1920 with the 'Tulane Orchestra' and the 'Crescent Orchestra'. In the 1920's he played with 'Golden Leaf Band' and the 'Onward Brass Band'. He then played with the 'WPA Brass Band' and with Papa Celestin before the end of the 1940's. He then performed with Bill Matthews and Octave Crosby at the Paddock until 1955. (Louisiana)
