TP today had an article saying that the Tobasco people just purchased 2 of the '13 Sisters' (13 row houses which line St. Charles on the downtown side of Lee Circle). This is good news because they will renovate the buildings (I'm not happy to hear that the interiors have been gutted). It's bad news because the purchase includes the former slave quarters which for years housed the now defunct and legendary 'Hummingbird'.

had very good food, we used to eat there on occasion.....always wanted to look at a room just to see what they looked like but never did.......one year we ate there on Fat Tuesday at the end of the day when most of the crowd had left and caught a speeding Comus parade flying by just outside the door, the only time i saw Comus. They flew by at a ridiculously fast speed. Crazy.
